Center Recognized for Excellence in Antimicrobial Stewardship

The Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA) has recognized the Center for its excellence in Antimicrobial Stewardship. The center was one of only two academic sites in the nation to receive this designation upon the creation of the AS CoE Program.

“Duke University Health System has long recognized the importance of antimicrobial stewardship as a critical tool to ensure quality of care,” said Deverick J. Anderson, M.D., director of the Duke Center for Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Prevention. “The stewardship programs in our center engage almost 50 hospitals in the southeastern U.S. to promote best practices for stewardship. We are honored and proud to be among the first academic institutions recognized by the IDSA as a Center of Excellence.”
