The Duke University Hospital Antimicrobial Stewardship and Evaluation Team (ASET) is co-chaired by Rebekah Moehring, MD, and Rebekah Wrenn, PharmD. ASET is a part of the Duke University Health System Pharmacy Medication Management Committee (PMMC) and the Duke University Hospital Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) committee. Drs. Moehring, Wrenn, and Anderson have worked together to establish ASET as a highly effective and efficient team since 2013. Put simply, patient care is safer at DUH because of ASET activities.
ASET team members direct all antimicrobial stewardship activities at DUH, including active interventions such as post-prescription review, restriction, and penicillin skin testing. The direction of ASET is driven by a leadership group of adult and pediatric infectious diseases physicians and pharmacists. The leadership group oversees multidisciplinary monthly ASET committee meetings. ASET resources and protocols are available to Duke providers via CustomID at www.customid.org and Formweb at www.formweb.com/duke.
